Thank you for visiting our campaign website. Since the September
primary, we have worked hard to spread the message of continued
progress (economic development, stronger infrastructure, improved
human services, improved recreation, and civility) to the city.
If you are still looking for information beyond what is out
there already or otherwise available on my website, please see
my letter.

- October 30, 2007 Letter from Sam Alai to Broadview Heights
Citizens
I thank Mayor Leo Bender for his support. When Mayor Bender
retired from the military and returned to his hometown of Broadview
Heights, our community was very different than it is today.
The Mayor's office was a part-time position and the community
was just beginning to make a transition from a rural community
to a more cosmopolitan community. There were many good reasons
our community elected him to six consecutive terms. To continue
to make progress, we must know our city's history and there
is much we can learn from Mayor Bender and other long-time residents.

Leo Bender
Two of our strongest city leaders are Councilmen Dave Wondolowski
and Robert Boldt. Both men work tirelessly to make this community
a good place to live and raise a family. I appreciate their
support and look forward to continuing working with them side-by-side
as colleagues.

I thank all the residents who I have met over the past few months.
I remain impressed with the talent and energy that exists to
improve our community and to take it forward. I also thank the
many teachers and staff members in our two school systems who
have expressed support. In the end, it it is about leaving the
world a better place for the next generation and we are fortunate
to have such outstanding schools.

Teachers and Staff Members Supporting Sam Alai for Mayor
This campaign began in March with a simple slogan - Together,
Let's Do What's Right for Broadview Heights. As you go to the
polls on Tuesday, November 6, please remember that a great city
requires that all of us (the young people, working families,
professionals, seniors, and the disaffected) continually strive
toward building a community founded on mutual respect, trust,
and cooperation.
I respectfully ask for your vote on Election Day.
Sincerely,

Sam Alai,
